Our annual Christmas concert brings a joyful collection of holiday music starting with the masterful Christmas Concerto by Arcangelo Corelli, one of the first Baroque composers to write for string orchestra. The audience will also find joy in a thrilling orchestral mash-up of Vivaldi’s Winter Concerto with O Hanukkah by the great pops orchestra arranger, Tim Berens. Rimsky-Korsakov composed his brilliant “Polonaise”’ for his opera entitled “Christmas Eve.” The first half closes with a stellar home-grown talent, cellist Audrey Jellett performing Bruch’s “Kol Nidrei” The second half brings our annual collaboration with the Hill Country Chorale featuring the iconic music of John Williams from his film score Home Alone, followed by the ever-popular “Many Moods of Christmas (Suite 3)” collected and arranged by the great chorus master Robert Shaw. The concert concludes with Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival” sung by the chorus and the audience.

Cellist Audrey Jellett has performed with the National Youth Orchestra-USA, Texas All-State Philharmonic, World Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra. She has studied with Annette DiGiosia of the San Antonio Symphony, Dr. Patrick Owen at Interlochen Arts Academy, and Julia Lichten at the Manhattan School of Music. Audrey was raised in Kerrville, TX and is an alumni of the Hill Country Youth Orchestras where she began her musical studies at the age of three. Audrey’s musical journey has taken her to programs around the world including Interlochen Arts Camp, l’Académie Orford Musique, and the Meadowmount School of Music, where she had the opportunity to study with renowned cellist Lynn Harrell. During her time at Interlochen Arts Academy, she performed as principal cellist with the Arts Academy Orchestra on NPR’s From the Top and graduated with academic honors and a Fine Arts Award. Audrey has since received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, during which time she was also employed by Third Street Music School as cello faculty, and at Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing in partnership with their community-wide music outreach events. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Cello Performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studies modern cello with Josephine Cole and baroque cello with Andrew Skidmore. Since moving to London, Audrey has performed with the Allora Ensemble at Wigmore Hall and has appeared throughout England, Scotland, and Italy as both a modern and baroque cellist.
