Nov 18, 2025–Four vocal soloists and the Hill Country Chorale will join Symphony of the Hills in presenting Handel’s Messiah for “A Time to Rejoice: Handel’s Messiah” on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Cailloux Theater in Kerrville. The concert begins at 7:00 pm with a pre-concert wine reception for ticket holders beginning at 6:00 pm.
Hill Country Chorale will join the orchestra to perform excerpts from Handel’s Messiah. Claire Rabson is artistic director/conductor; Dr. Susan Matteson is accompanist.
Handling the vocal solos at the traditional holiday concert are:
Haley Dove Montoya, soprano Currently Music Director at Kerrville First United Methodist Church, Montoya has performed a variety of operatic, classical, Music Theater, and sacred music for more than 25 years.
Virginia Dupuy, alto
Dupuy has earned a reputation as one of the finest recital and concert singers in the United States. She performs regularly with Dallas-based Voices of Change.
Seth Lafler, tenor Director of Choral Music at Tivy High School and First Presbyterian Church, Lafler holds an M.Ed. in Administration from Lamar University and earned a B.A. in Music at Texas State University.
Christopher Besch, bass
Assistant Professor of Voice at Texas State University, Besch has performed in eight countries on three continents. covering musical styles from early music to grand opera and modern art song.
Dr. Eugene Dowdy is Conductor & Artistic Director of Symphony of the Hills.
